There's A Lot O Lovin' In This Old Boy Yet

You've Made Me So Very Happy
A.J. Marshall
There's A Lot O Lovin' In This Old Boy Yet
MGM Records SE-4648
1969

I found another blog review that suggests that A. J. Marshall was an "Al Jolson impersonator. The jacket notes never mention Jolson by name, but the suggestion is clear that Marshall was doing "songs of today" in the "Jolson" style. And of course, you have the suggestion of the famous Jolson pose on the rear cover.

Why did MGM contracted with a Jolson impersonator to cover 60s pop songs?

They don't call it "strange music" for nothing.
