This is the greatest thing I have ever stumbled upon - since this is my dad! Mark - how and why on earth did you post him? I am touched as it a way to hear my dad from heaven! THANK YOU
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret! So glad you enjoyed finding this post. I think I found this album on ebay. I spend a good deal of time looking for this type of recording. Cheers! Mark
DeleteSo happy I found this! I used to listen to Vince every weekend. Loved his voice. So nice to hear it again!
DeleteAmazing - my dad was a total lounge singer and judging by that album cover - just what you are looking for on this page. I read further and see you do this for fun, crazy finds and I would imagine when you found the album it was just the thing! He was a great man and a great night club singer in my eyes and maybe this blog is for the crazy stuff you find - but it genuinely gave me a smile!! Cheers!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Artists, like your father, produced these albums to please their fan base, promote their services and hopefully make a little extra money selling copies in clubs. They couldn't have guessed that, in the future, their music might be widely distributed through the internet. With limited resources they made these treasures that can now be handed down for new ears to listen to. I love them because they define a type of energy and (sometimes crazy) creativity found only during the few decades that most were produced.
DeleteMargaret this is fantastic. We were just talking about this...do you have a copy of this record still?
ReplyDeleteJohn - I'm pretty sure my mom does but no record player!! LOL
DeleteI would love this on a CD - Especially Mac The Knife.
Mark--any chance you can post "Mack The Knife" from the album? It would bring back great memories for many of us. My mom had the album but in --get this- 8track version!!! Even if I kept it, there would be no way to play.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela! I've posted the entire album above. Sorry about the reset needle at the beginning, I normally edit stuff like that out. 8-Track? That must have been a pricey option! Enjoy! – Mark
DeleteThank you so much, Mark! You've just made many people very happy to have something on our iTunes from our past.
DeleteWOW - Ange I had no idea you asked Mark to do that! THANKS Mark - bet you never thought this would all go down!
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret...was in a nostalgic mood and looked up Pleasant Acres and your Dad, How wonderful is this!!!! I wish I could return to these good ole days being a waiter...wow...Dad's voice brings me to the nightclub. I hope you are well....Johnny Caserta
