Magic Of Music - Joe Cowan

Ebb Tide
Magic Of Music
Featuring Joe Cowan
In Stereo At The Hammond
Carellen Records, Inc. - DeLand, Florida

This is Joe Cowan's third album (out of a possible four). Check out a sample from Cowan's second album Joe Cowan At The Twin Keyboards.

From the back cover: We feel that the "Magic Of Music" presents Joe's individual styling and sincere artistry at the peak of his growing reputation as Florida's most beloved entertainer at the organ. Joe is his fifth year at the Bali, one of Daytona Beach's most popular and busy supper clubs.

Music Man - Karl Cole

New York New York
Music Man
Featuring Karl Cole
Pied Piper Pizza Peddler - Universal Mall, Warren, Michigan

Since I've been collecting I've found what seems like many albums featuring pipe organs installed in businesses such as pizza parlors. One album featured an organ installed in a motorcycle dealership.

From the back cover: This organ began its career on December 24, 1927 in the United Artists Theatre, Detroit, Michigan, where it was used to accompany silent films. The United Artist organ was stored away in the theatre basement until 1975 when it was resurrected by Henry W. Hunt and Kenneth E. Saliba, owners of the Pipe Piper Pizza Peddler.

From the back cover: This album is unique in that it shows, for the first time, a side of the Smith boys that has never been revealed in their previous Bermuda Souvenir Albums.

From the back cover: Chuck Cusic was born in St. Augustine, Florida in 1932. Being blind from birth, he attended the Florida State School for the Deaf and Blind. He started studying the piano at the age of five and was able to play most any hymn or ballad from memory by the time he was six. His first piano instructor, noted pianist D. B. Wilson, went on the record as saying "Chuck will do great things, I'm sure... musically he's a genius.

Once Again - Al Tell

Medley: It Ain't Necessarily So, Summertime
Once Again
Al Tell
Alpha Records - Oklahoma City
A-EL-100
1977

This is one tight lounge trio consisting of Al Tell - keyboards, Marvin Williams - bass and Kelly Cunningham - drums.

The group worked out of Oklahoma City and I found a mention of Tell in a 1956 copy of billboard mentioning his involvement on local TV. He was working on The Tome Paxton Show, a daily variety show featuring Emsee Paxton (presumably the band leader).
