  1. Great artist and find. I miss those days of Phyllis Diller and Merv Griffin.

  2. I've often wondered if Lee Sohn's appearance is what drew that Korean gunman to the Place Pigalle in the 1960s. Stripper April March was on stage and the gunman, who was allegedly drunk and enraged over paying for her drinks, shot and killed a singer, injured the doorman and dancer. Quite a scandal for the times.

    1. Your father was a great entertainer. Your mother used to sit at the table by the spotlight. I remember the tragic day in your family and your mother telling me you will never be allowed to go anywhere without her....hope she changed her mind. I remember you and hopeyou have a wonderful life hun

    2. Such a nice response Buffy. All is well and yes I have been allowed to roam freely for many years. Did some comedy recording back in the early 80's which attracted some attention. Wish I got a chance to know dad.

  8. I found this in a thrift store this weekend - sadly surface noise is very prevalent at the end of side two, would love to find another clean copy.

  9. I worked at the Place Pegalle as Bambie Lee during the time of the popular Sweet Richard and Princess Kitty act from Nassau. My dance partner and I did a rough and tumble adagio, French street scene act. In opening, my partner, Christian Lamont, would fire a blank pistol and I would run up on the stage with him right behind. After our engagement, we left the Pigalle and went on tour. When we returned to the Pigalle years later we heard about the shooting of Lee Sohn. We had to cut out the firing of the gun at the beginning of the act at the request of Harry Ridge because it upset everyone so much. The Place Pigalle had many entertaining variety acts and strippers. Blaze Star was a headliner too. As I recall, she was a very nice person, had a great act telling jokes and relating to the audience then did a classy strip tease. Blaze was a very private person and knitted afgans in her dressing room just off stage left to keep busy between shows. After my show biz days, I went to college and became an engineer. Go figure.

    1. Bambie I may have seen you one or two times. I remember Lee Sohn and Pearl Williams for sure. You see, my Dad played in the band for many years. He was the organist. Always played "I did it my way" after Mr. Sohns show.
